The Powerhouse of the Deep Blue
Built for sheer power and relentless ocean migrations, the Atlantic Bluefin Tuna stands as the ultimate trophy for offshore anglers. Recognized globally as a giant of the pelagic zone, this legendary gamefish tests endurance with explosive runs and deep-water battles. Florida Fish Mounts builds custom bluefin tuna wall mount replicas hand-crafted in America to preserve the exact thrill of your offshore catch. Each replica is meticulously hand-painted to turn your bluewater success into a permanent piece of premium lodge décor.
Anatomical Accuracy: First-Generation Molds
Every Bluefin Tuna reproduction is cast from a first-generation mold taken directly from an actual specimen. This guarantees that the robust torpedo body shape, sweeping sickle fins, sharp dorsal finlets, and precise scale definition are entirely accurate. Artist Greg Cassell avoids generic retail blanks, utilizing hand-sculpted jaw structures to capture the species' powerful profile, alongside hand-painted glass eyes set into the mold using high-strength sculpting epoxy for a lifelike finish.
Vibrant Blue-Silver Tones vs. Skin Mount Grease Bleed
As high-oil pelagic predators, bluefin tuna possess dense muscle tissue and natural oils that create severe preservation challenges. Traditional organic skin mounts of oily pelagic species fail rapidly because trapped oils continuously bleed through the paint, causing severe yellowing, skin shrinkage, and cracking over time. Beyond structural failure, a live bluefin's deep iridescent blue back and metallic silver flanks fade rapidly after harvest. Choosing a custom fiberglass bluefin mount completely eliminates organic decay, allowing Greg Cassell to lock your fish's true colors permanently beneath a UV-resistant urethane clear coat.
Have Your Mount and Eat It Too
Bluefin tuna are globally prized for their exceptional culinary value and sashimi-grade steaks. Choosing a custom fiberglass replica means you never have to choose between a trophy on your wall and world-class dinners in your freezer. There is no fish required in our workshop. Simply take a few clean, well-lit photographs of your catch right after bringing it over the rail, then pack your tuna on ice for the table.
Custom Pattern Matching and the Approval Process
We include custom photo-matching with your order at no additional cost. You can upload your catch photo using the button below before or after placing your order. Greg will study your image to match specific fin lengths, lateral color intensity, or unique markings from your catch. If you do not have a photo, Greg will paint your replica to match a classic, highly vibrant ocean-phase bluefin tuna. Once the painting phase is complete, we email you high-resolution photos of the raw paintwork. We do not apply the protective urethane clear coat or crate your order until you have reviewed the photos and given your explicit approval.
Shipping and Final Invoicing
Shipping costs are calculated and invoiced separately once your mount is fully completed and secured inside a custom-built wooden shipping crate. Because large pelagic replicas vary significantly in length and weight, flat-rate shipping is not applied at checkout. Once your approved mount is secured, we send a separate invoice for the actual UPS Ground shipping balance. Your replica ships immediately upon payment of that invoice. You can check our current shop turnaround schedule at any time by clicking the production time link located in our website footer.
