In the photos, you will notice subtle darker shading in the recessed scale and fin textures. This is a custom antiquing technique Greg uses to enhance dimension and depth. First, a contrasting paint is worked into the fine scale detail and the edges of each fin ray, then carefully removed from the raised surfaces. This technique makes the intricate details stand out, giving your mount a lifelike finish that captures the texture and presence of a real fish.
This piece is already partway through the build process, making it a rare opportunity to receive your finished mount much sooner than our usual schedule. You will receive a photo of your painted mount for approval. Once you approve the paint job, we will clear your mount, crate it for shipping dimensions, send you an invoice, and ship it out once that balance is paid, This is much faster than the normal 8-week turnaround for most orders.
